I don't agree that white men have such a positive image. Any history book that was written since around the 1970s is basically a catalog of How YT Effed Everything Up. Old White Males are probably the most hated demographic in the world and are used as the scapegoat for basically all modern social ills by various groups and world leaders.
Maybe so, but white men are still more beloved and sought after by women worldwide than anyone else. Can't knock the hustle.
Sought after, maybe. Beloved? I don't know. Money talks. That's the "secret." White guys are "sought after" because of the perception that they have money and "privilege." If Filipino men had a reputation for being rich and powerful and controlling the world, then women would be after Filipinos. When white males stop having money and power we'll see how beloved and sought after we are.
I don't think beloved is a stretch. There was a thread in the Entertainment and Pop Culture Forum not to long ago where ladies were naming their crushes from the Silver Screen. There were mentions of Marlon Brando, James Dean, Clark Gable, Cary Grant, Gene Kelly, and Paul Newman...the list went on and on without a single mention of anyone non-white and you know why, because discrimination excluded non-whites as leading men in Hollywood and thus the prototype of the perfect male was established which had one primary prerequisite --- he was white. Women across the country and around the globe swooned the hunks on screen while subliminal media persuasion and propaganda planted in their minds the standard for success and attractiveness in a man and it remains the standard to this day.
