Why wouldn't UDC work?  It worked for Wilson?  That said, I wish UDC had moved when Mayor Williams tried to get them to move to the St. E's campus.  The ugly Brutalist concrete buildings on the UDC Van Ness campus make the  FBI J. Edgar Hoover building seem positively charming.  And it's always been a struggle for the neighborhood to get regular access to the UDC pool and tennis courts during off hours.  UDC has hardly been the best neighbor.[/quote]

They didn't elaborate on why UDC wouldn't work. They have a major construction project going on which may have played into it. They said St. Ann's has already been leased out.
