I confess to having voted for Gray over Bowser in the hope that Catania could defeat a wounded Gray in the general election.  However, I credit Gray with being a detail driven manager, which is why unfortunately I think he knew a lot more about the shadow campaign four years ago that he has admitted.  Yet I would acknowledge that Gray was more like old fashioned big city mayors (like the elder Richard Daley in Chicago), with some ethical questions but who knew how to make things work.  Granted, Gray didn't have a big personal machine, but he got stuff done and mostly delivered city services.  Barry was the other extreme, rather crooked yet a terrible manager who mostly didn't deliver services or successfully attack big problems.  The jury's still out on Bowser -- figuratively, although Park Southern might mean some day literally.  But her poor beginning makes me wonder if she has the basic ability to manage the District and deliver the goods.[/quote]
