BWAHAHA - I also live in the neighborhood, and I'm dying trying to imagine which dillweed is the OP. I agree that you're probably not as beloved as you think, OP. I think L-T will be just fine without you. Good luck with your 120+ waitlist numbers.
What is a dillweed?!
"Popularized by the Beavis and Butt-head TV series, "dillweed" is a derogatory term used to describe irrational/dumb behavior and low intellectual capabilities"
typically someone who donates significant time and money to a school is not of low intellectual capabilities. From your choice of vocabulary, though, sounds like you have plenty of experience yourself in that realm.
I am not PP, but the OP did say they donated money to other schools in the area, but had done no research about his or her own IB school. Then proceeded to apply to said school, again without knowing anything about it other than stories from many years ago. Now are matched with a school that they didn't research at all. Not exactly the brightest bulb, notwithstanding the purported Ivy degree.
If you must go there, it was a disagreement btw my partner and I. It was a last minute add, based on the idea we would reach out to people after the fact. I am sure you can come up with something else obnoxious and hateful as the rest of your posts. As I stated, we were not interested in this school. What jerks you are. I have brought up valid questions only to be personally attacked. I guess I will just have to take solace in the fact that if I am ever part of this school, I will not treat people the way you are, and the tone of responses regarding nearly all of the questions about L-T on this forum. Why do they always devolve into uncivilized messes? Shame on you. It speaks so highly of all of your "school culture" and the best part of it, is that it is up here for everyone to see. Publicly, and for a long time. Congratulations on a tradition of "lowered standards" across the board.
OP, I'm not saying you're a bad person, but I do think you're quite tone deaf in your written discourse. I would lampoon the thread as follows... OP: "Oh no, we didn't get in anywhere decent. We only got into our absolutely horrible IB school. Parents of children who go to this absolutely horrible IB school, can you tell me about it?" Dutiful LT parents stepping up to the plate: "We are actually really pleased with the school so far. It has a terrific early childhood education program, and some of us are in the early upper grades and really like that too. There are some flaws such as aftercare, but really it's been a great place so far. We're very impressed with the program. Many of us are planning to stay long-term." Some folks who don't have kids at the school: "How could you ever send your child there? The principal is horrible. When we were at the open house, she ripped my child's teddy bear from her arms and stomped on it." Dutiful LT parents again: "Well, PR definitely isn't the principal's strong suit, but she does have many fine qualities. She hires really great teachers and keeps them." OP: "I could never send my child to such a horrible place because I actually love my child and care about their education." LT parents who have now been outed as not loving their children or caring about their education (and have been revealed to have gone to lesser Ivies): "Oh, go away, dillweed." Honestly, most of us are not bad people. But you have been pretty insulting to those of us trying to help and give you information. If you want all kisses and cuddles, you'll need much better lottery luck or $40K per year for tuition. I think my kid is getting an excellent education at LT right now, and that's okay by me.
Doesn't the title of the thread say it all?
