Hard to believe there are still Neanderthals who think they can keep their kids from turning gay just by never telling them gay exists. And what is with not wanting kids exposed to something that might "confuse" them? Do you feel the same way about verb tenses or algebra? Why exactly do you send your kids to school at all?
Not the pp you are baiting, but I will respond. My child is gay or he is not ... time will tell. I love him the same in either case. Right now, my child is very interested in playing baseball and watching football and indy races. He enjoys reading, math, and recess. He spends no time considering whether he will wish to marry a female or a male. He spends no time considering which gender might be more appealing as a sex partner. He thinks sex is kissing and he is not interested in kissing anyone except maybe mom right before he goes to sleep. He currently does not know anyone with two same gender parents ... he really doesn't care about friends' parents. My son is 9 years old and I personally see no reason why he needs to be introduced to ideas that are of no interest or relevance to him at this point in his life. The truth is that these ideas are out there in our culture all over the place ... when he is old enough (and that age is different for different kids), he will notice and will no doubt have questions. THAT IS THE TIME to answer his questions in a neutral, factual, supportive way. But thank you for your concern about my child being "properly" educated in a way YOU see fit.
