It’s not a cut. It’s the council not giving mcps the 5% increase they asked for.

Why does mcps need an increase since enrollment is down as they claim?

Here’s a thought…maybe instead of firing all these teachers, mcps should solve its bloat?

Their spending is out of control.  Tayor promised transparency, accountability and much more.  Many families are struggling right now and aren't getting raises.  It's a great way to run people out of the county.[/quote]

They are empowered to do just that. They could ask for additional data on any line item if they so choose. They could watch all the BOE budget meetings and ask for more info. [/quote]
