NP here. For his own selfish reasons including self-preservation. He’s busting up the country into pieces and offering everything to the highest bidders— and those he’s scared of.  The guy is loaded with dirty destructive secrets that certain people know well. This is what security clearances are for, folks. To protect our country and keep power out of the hands of a dangerously corrupt person who can destroy the entire USA and alter life as we know it. Canadian here. Yes Trump is a terrible leader, a despicable person, a liar, a cheater, a narcissist, probably demented, all of that.
But what we can’t understand is why you voted him in twice, and why now, with your 10x population we have, you can’t get rid of him. Why are you powerless?

I know right? It boggles the mind. The only explanation I can think of is that Murdoch and his ilk have established Fox in every nursing home and institutional living and lowly restaurant and mall in red and purple places in America, and the public just believes without questioning. Since Tea Party days, the right has hated the left more than anyone else, and has made its entire reason for living, owning the libs. So even though some conservatives have never liked Trump, they cannot see their way to voting in protest for a Democrat. Some have done so, of course (people I know), but they represent a small minority of the right: those who don't believe everything the rightwing bubble tells them.

I believe that this is firstly an information war, which has been waged for decades and has divided the public. We need to change laws in this country as to what represents news and what does not, and crack down on channels that present "entertainment" as news.
