Barf. My kids both helped shovel, as did both my husband and myself. It was challenging work and I’m glad we all pitched in. The kids both wanted to go help an elderly neighbor but before we finished our house a guy with a heavy duty snowplow came and did it in under an hour. Our listserve was inundated with offers from people to shovel for money, which is fine. I did not take a survey of who was shoveling and who was getting paid because I didn’t have an agenda I was trying to bolster. In reality, there’s no overarching story here. Some people were kind and some people weren’t especially, like every other day. [/quote]
