It is true the word homosexual did not exist before the 1800s, so the Bible used the words effeminate, unnatural affection, and leaving the natural use of. Jesus never talked about homosexuality, but He did talk about loving your neighbor, and He didn't just mean Joe Schmoe down the street.[/quote]I bring up homosexuality because this is the defining issue between liberals who want to redefine Christianity as they did marriage, and Bible-believing, born-again conservative Christians. You cannot deny that Methodists, Episcopalians, and other denominations have split on this subject. That is why I bring it up, because it comes down to what God’s word in the Bible says, or what man’s feelings are on the matter. It is the same with Genesis, which Jesus quoted that man and woman were created for each other [i]on the same day[/i]. One did not evolve over millions of years and then by lucky chance, the other evolved within the other’s fertility years to produce children. When Jesus was on the Earth, many were speculating about who he was. Some said he had a devil, he was a prophet, a lunatic. Some were scared Jesus would cause trouble bringing the might of the Roman empire down upon them. But Jesus asked Peter who said in Matthew 16:16 [i]Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.[/i] The question is, who do you say Jesus is? Will you listen to the atheist who says it is bunkum? The hippie Jesus of liberals who chirp about not judging but ignore his commandments? Or will you take as authority what other religions say? I will take as authority what Jesus said, that is written in John 14:6 [i]Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me… Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me[/i][/quote] So you only listen to Jesus’s word which would have you welcome the immigrant. He never spoke of homosexuality (it didn’t even appear in the translations until 1946) so you have no issue accepting that. He never spoke of abortion so you’re good with that.
