I don't really recall any horrendous wedding gifts - folks were pretty good about sticking to the registry or giving cash.

However, we gathered at my in-laws the day after to open up our cards and get things sorted before we left for our honeymoon.  My in-laws, my parents and my wife's grandparents were there.

We are opening cards and we get to Uncle Art's card.  Uncle Art never had kids and out of the Grandfather's family, probably did the best for himself.  Rumor was he had a pretty large nest egg that he was sitting on.  He would always buy himself a new car every two years whether he needed it or not.

Anyway, we open Uncle Art's card and I think it had $25 in it.  I always will remember Grandpap Ray exclaiming "Why that cheap bastard!"

My wife and I still get a chuckle of out it today.   God Bless all of them.  Miss them everyday. [/quote]
