Thank you.  Lots of really selfish people around here.  DH is very tall; I'm super short.  DH helps people he sees struggling, whether with their bags or in the grocery store trying to get stuff on the top  shelf.  He's a kind person.   My kids (17 and 20) are tall, and even they have helped people in the airplane with their bags.

If I saw a mom with a baby and toddler trying to deal with bags and such, I'd help her.    Aholes would just tell her that she shouldn't fly to go see her family.[/quote]

You need formula, snacks, food, sippy cups, bottles, water for formula if its not liquid, diapers, wipes, clothing for everyone, medications, etc.

We were getting off our flight and a couple with a baby's flight was canceled and they were stranded about to finally get on board after about 14 hours at the airport and out of supplies. We saw them in a panic waiting for our stroller at the gate.   Thankfully, I had extra in my car at the airport so I could clean out my stuff and give it to them, but you always need to pack at least 2-3 times what you think you need as well.[/quote]

Why on earth would you spend a fortune on diapers and other stuff at the airport  when you can bring extra.  I spend enough money on food at the airport. $20 for a burger and fries.  I can't imagine how much a pack of diapers would cost there [/quote]

Where on earth did I suggest you buy diapers at the airport? I specifically listed the things you should get at the airport and shockingly I didn’t say diapers or wipes. But if you’re trying to say you need 3 roll aboards worth of diapers, wipes and formula then you are full of shit. Maybe eat fewer burgers and fries for a start.[/quote]

NP (and one who is a very efficient competent traveler with and without kids).

1) No one said anything about bringing on 3 roll bags either if you’re keeping score in bringing up materials not in evidence! Nor was there any evidence this poster is fat so the already far over the line fat insult doesn’t even make sense in context.

2) You absolutely need spare clothes for kids and they do not always sell it at the airport and if they do it’s generally crazy expensive.

3) Snacks and food also very expensive at the airport. And they don’t sell formula.

4) I have never seen a bottle for sale at the airport or kids cups/gear which is how you get through the flight without making a mess

5) PP clearly described why you do need extra of everything if you don’t want to spend a ton of unnecessary money in case of delays/just a long travel da

6) Generally the required accoutrement is in a diaper bag (which is not tiny although not ridiculous), a carry on and a stroller. When you add the children in this can get overwhelming.

7) Helping people costs you nothing. No one walks through life without ever experiencing a moment when the kindness of a stranger can make a great impact, if you think you have you just haven’t had your eyes open.

Tell me you’ve never flown with kids without saying you’ve never flown with kids. Tell me you’re an unhappy ungenerous jerk without telling me you’re an unhappy ungenerous jerk.

And I’m really a brand np and my kids look like they’ve been trained at the factory line in an airport they are all on point and we never hold anyone up. But the lack of humanity in this thread is why traveling has become such a garbage experience.

How many people have died from lifting a piece of luggage into the overhead bin?  If you actually think that putting luggage into overhead bins is a life-threatening activity, then perhaps instead of advocating to take away the rights of disabled people, you should advocate for a redesign of airplan cabins?[/quote]
