All u13 teams in the area have a max of 18. Have not seen one team with more than that. Anyone disagrees?
Definitely not the case in our experience. Alexandria had 23 on the roster.
Pros and cons with larger roster. It certainly makes practices more competitive as players jockey for a spot on a weekly basis. On our team there is no guarantee from week to week. Some say that’s Draconian. I think it’s just life.
How about syc u13? NVA and Bethesda have 18 or more?
All of them have close to the max which is over 24 now I think. There is massive demand for MLSNext, these clubs aren't having problems with families not taking offered spots. If you do not come in as a starter or a regular sub, expect not to be rostered every week and plan accordingly or ask questions about what happens if you're not rostered every week. Not all clubs are as forthcoming about this reality. And I don't know why. All the kids that can get on an MLSNext club have probably always have never had to vie for playing time. It can be a hit to a player's ego to have to fight to even get on the game day roster. Please make sure you are managing expectations for your child.
