He seems highly intelligent and, of course, well educated; but he also comes across as odd and quirky.
Basically. You can see when he’s delivering a speech that he’s capable and polished when he needs to be. But he has a very weird sense of humor and thrives on any kind of attention. He lacks focus but is wealthy so it’s not a blocker for him.
Before I go any further, I tend to agree with his opinions just so I won't be called a MAGA. What gets me about the whole Jack Schlossberg thing...we are so quick to rail against the entitled, privileged white male. Yet when are presented with the living embodiment of an entitled, privileged white male (who happens to be spouting the anti-Trump talking points ) the media/younger generation - the same media/people that are so quick to be anti-entitled, privileged white males - are loving Jack. Jack is 31 years old. He's an adult. He's obviously smart. He had the best education money could buy - one of the elite private NY schools for k-12, Yale undergrad, Harvard JD/MBA (I think the MBA part?). He is part of one of the most storied, connected families in America. If Kennedys were royalty, he would be the crown prince. Yet...what is he doing with his life? Making these videos? That's it? He needs to grow up and put all his assets (his intelligence, good education, family money, connections) to good use instead of making these videos. What was the last job he had? Politicial Correspondent for Vogue that he didn't even last a year in? He is not going to be the next JFK Jr no matter how many people want to make that happen. If everything were to remain about Jack, but he made the same videos but they were pro-Trump would people on this thread go on about how funny he is and how much they like him?
The younger generation communicates using videos on social media. I think you’re too old to “get “ him. I certainly have a lot more respect for Jack Schlossberg than I do for Donald Trump and Erik Trump Jr and Ivanka’s husband Jared-all highly privileged white young men with degrees from expensive private universities whose jobs consist of making millions off hotel and investment deals in poorer countries who want to benefit from their Trump connections.
There’s nothing -to- get. And I truly don’t understand this pathetic lionizing of Schlossberg based on comparative measures. Yeah, he’s less of a dick than Don Jr or Jared. And?? I likely have read more about politics than Jack and none of his videos are impressive. I’m to the left of the Kennedys and do not like right-wingers, but the enduring mystique of this jumped up gang of woman-abusers is beyond what I can take. Yes I know Trump is an adjudicated rapist. It’s the entitlement that kills me. I remember Caroline Kennedy deciding she could just be a senator in 2008, and evade any kind of public say. Because she’s a Kennedy, who threw in early for Obama, so yep Hillary gets State and she gets the NY Senste seat! Yay democracy! Tl, dr- in a better world, we wouldn’t know Jack Schlossberg’s name and he’d get some treatment for ADHD and a fckn job.
Caroline Kennedy did not replace Hillary Clinton in the Senate.
No shit. Didn’t say otherwise. Caroline floated taking the seat but balked at answering questions and presenting a platform. She wanted immediate anointment as a Kennedy, so she backed out. Gillibrand understood being a senator requires revealing something about what you represent and who you are. The family is a joke. One of Jack’s generation also thought his name and youth meant he could swan in and take Ed Markey’s seat. Welp he got spanked. There are so many democratic reporters and writers who are young, attractive, talented; it’s a shame Vogue tapped Jack, who presents like a cracked-out cat, to any role.
