“The summer of 2020 was terrible” is a gross understatement.  Of course it doesn’t justify Jan. 6, but it certainly does explain it.  The thugs who participated had seen an entire year of other thugs violently assaulting people and property, with no consequences.  Naturally, they figured the precedent had been set.

Face it, after 2020, the Democrats have a bad reputation for excusing violent urban carnage when committed by people they agree with.
