This is how I know immigration to work.

In the 80's, my uncle and his wife were top students at the top university in their home country.  The immigrated to the US.  After getting settled, he petitioned for family members to come.  We waited for several years in our home country until granted entry.  After getting settled, my parents then petitioned for my mothers side of the family to come.  They waited for years in their home county until granted entry.

That's how I know immigration to work.

Walking up to the border expecting to be taken into custody and released is not how it is supposed to work.  Coming in with a temporary visa and not leaving when it expires is not how it is supposed to work.  [/quote]
