Good riddance to the EML program. I am a social worker with the county and know 3 EMO counselors well there who do nothing and take advantage of being “out in the field” traveling in between schools or doing “home visits” but really they are not working and taking advantage of poor supervisory management. None of them are held accountable. They are selfish and doing a disservice to our students. These funds are better placed elsewhere
Tons of corruption and fraud. Zero oversight.
Base pay for EML was $81,000 last year, probably higher with cost of living increase now… CPS Social Workers don’t even get that much and are held to much higher standards. These EML “Counselors” don’t even need to be licensed counselors/therapists, so long as they have a master’s in therapy/psych related field. In contrast to actual therapists/counselors, you need your LMSW, LCSW, LCPC, etc. These EML counselors do not require this and are the ones supposedly helping our most vulnerable population of students in school but have nothing to show for it.
Some have received their LCSW-C in their current positions.
