[/quote] My MIL was not a great cook, but her pie crust was amazing. She used crisco.[/quote] I bake plenty of pies every summer. My most popular recipe uses both butter and crisco. Butter for flavor and a bit of crisco for flakiness. But I tend to use all butter for greater ease and if moving quickly get a pretty comparable outcome. My objection to crisco is that it's slightly messier than butter.[/quote]
