So are people just going to dutifully keep doing this waiting to be old enough for VERA, a better VSIP, or a job offer which lets be honest in DC isn’t easy right now no matter how great you are. Like once Atkins arrives, is no one/no group of people going to try to get in front of him to be like let’s just recognize it was NOT like this pre Covid. There was 2 (3?) days wk telework. Certain regions and parts of CF were entirely telework. Not saying you can just put a Teams meeting on Paul’s calendar but the chair does meet w people across the commission on various work issues. Ppl will just go into those work meetings and kiss @$$ and say nothing? So he can be like gee everyone seems fine, morale is great. Maybe it’s just me but I’m not getting why everyone is soooo scared. Not saying one person speaking changes anything - in fact that person gets branded as lazy - but every person in every meeting ever w him, his chief of staff, his counsel - something could click.
WTF are you talking about?? He knows full well what’s going on. He knows what the TW posture was pre Covid, what the CBA requires, etc. He doesn’t need a random staff member to brief him on it. Whether he’ll give a damn or have the courage to stand up to RV is another story.
Of course he knows but have you never worked with old white men before? Until it hits the over the head over and over and over, it doesn’t click. Unless they’re personally inconvenienced bc the rulemaking team they’re meeting w has a key person missing today bc oops they had to stay home for a drs appt or a window installer, it doesn’t click. But when am I saying SEC people are so spineless that when they’re before him it’ll be like oh gee it’s been ok, NBD.
Fair enough. I agree that people often grossly overestimate how much management knows (or cares), and that they often have their head in the sand with little awareness of morale, etc. Hence the 100 pct TONE DEAF emails and townhalls recently. “Welcome Back.” Seriously???? That’s like a chemo doctor excitedly saying “welcome back!” as you limp into the lab for your 8th treatment…. (And then giving you his bio to you for the 8th time.). Zero empathy or awareness.
Hahahaha! This is perfectly said.
