If you are in the top 3% of your hs class, you're in. 4/5%, is spring admit. Outside top 5%, most likely a reject[/quote] Yeah, I don't think this is right. It has everything to do with competition within a given major applicant pool. You don't need to be in the top 3% if you want to study a non-STEM major. For CS, Engineering, and maybe Bio, probably.[/quote] Agree. I know plenty of UMD admits this year and last who were not top 3%. They weren't applying to the most competitive majors though.[/quote]
