OPM just sent out an email that is a "Distribution and Response List" and we are supposed to click on it. They could simply send the memo directly without having to go through Agency heads. Agencies will of course have to come up with plans/designations etc within 30 days but the intent will be communicated. Our agency has still not communicated their plans so we have to wait and see how it pans out. We are any way at 6 days/PP. Don't mind if they set it to 8 but having the flexibility of 1 day of telework/week would be nice (that's what we had before Covid). I pity my supervisor who will have to sign off on countless situational telework requests as so many of us have downtown meetings etc.
This is what I am wondering about -- meetings in other offices (at other agencies). If I go across town, do I need permission from my boss now? Do I need to put that on my time card? As what? I get that the SES are terrified of losing their jobs now and are going to follow the orders, so I'm not going to feel bad for making their lives miserable for making mine miserable.
Indeed. This way most face to face meeting will be avoided, which is a pity. I've started multiple joint interagency programs/initiatives because of informal catch ups after these in person face-face meetings in the past.
