It’s not about having command experience. It’s about credibility.  He was a major three years ago and has no other experience to qualify him for the job. Then you insist he wasn’t high-ranking enough.  Then you’re shown a list of previous Sec Defs from Dem administrations who had far less military experience than him - or none at all.
