No WWIII. Israel is deliberately limiting targets it strikes, sending a message rather than inflicting a comprehensive military defeat this time. Iran is incapable of projecting significant power; it can harass opponents directly and through proxies but lacks the capacity to win a direct sustained conflict against Israel. This is just another round in tit-for-tat gestures, which neither side will interpret as sufficiently impressive to cause an enduring cessation of hostilities. Ultimately, Israel has a nuclear deterrent and has ample historical reason to employ it defensively if a threat is seen as existential. Even then, the conflict is unlikely to expand outside the region.
Why do you keep saying this? Israel is incapable of seriously hurting Iran by airstrikes(unless they drop about 12-20 nukes). This was an all out attack that had been the sole focus of the IDF general staff for 4 weeks. All of the Israeli Air Force was involved to project this limited amount of force. All the hawks in Israel have been wait decades to attack Iran and this is the sum total of their abilities to strike Iran. This is why Israel wants the US to attack Iran. Meanwhile Iran can respond with cheap ballistic missiles that the Israelis are unable to knock down. This shows the limits of Israel power. They are nothing without the US. Just another 3rd world country.
