If they don't want to vote for Harris they don't have to vote for Harris.  But I can't see how anyone can, in good conscience, vote for Trump, given how clearly cognitively unfit he is to serve.  A third choice would be to sit it out.  They can absolutely survive Harris and will do just fine under a Harris term (sorry but the MAGA doom and gloom over a Harris term is grossly overblown), but Trump is at this point at best incoherent and at best outright malignant and likely to throw us into yet another set of completely unwarranted and unnecessary constitutional crises and other chaos far worse than his first term.[/quote]

What were your plans before Biden dropped out? Were you still voting for him? Were you going to vote for a 3rd party? Did you think voting for Biden in his current mental state was better than the alternative? Try to understand how others in the same situation feel.  Don’t agree with their decision but you were in the same situation not too long ago.  [/quote]

Biden was tored, slowing down, and a little confused. I trusted his administration to pursue their vision, and I trusted him to step down when the time would come for it

Except the proof is in the pudding - and Biden did, and is doing, a great job as president. He just doesn't seem up for campaigning - which is critical to becoming president.

He isn't running but his situation is relatable to this election because it's the number one reason not to vote for Trump that no one on either "side" can disagree with. Biden's mental health has obviously become a problem. It's difficult to be an effective leader when you're struggling to process daily briefings every day and it's tough to lead the world out of world wars when leaders of other countries don't respect the aptitude of the person that is supposed to be the leader of the free world. If Trump wins he will be in the same shoes as Biden the day he is inaugurated and that's a "leader" of whom 60% of the country doesn't approve of and very few on the world stage have respect for. Age absolutely matters. Biden could have possibly been a popular and effective POTUS 20 or 30 years ago. Trump never could at any age in my opinion but that is a point that other's can fairly argue.

Long story short- Biden, despite some good things we think he has accomplished, has been a historically unpopular POTUS for 90% of his term. The effectiveness of his leadership has been impacted by his unpopularity. He hasn't been able to effectively lead on the world stage as evidenced by the ongoing wars. There is no reason to believe it will be any different with the just as old and mentally declining Trump. Say no to 80 year old presidents! Vote Harris![/quote]
