They also have a P2P with MLS Next but how many players did they pick up from MLS next vs ECNL for the 2011.

2011B VDA had 5 move to DCU.

MEG (MLSN, ECNL, GA)
I’d ditch ECNL (at least for Boys).
It’s you again- isn’t it. Enough already about the ECNL not for boys act. Plenty of strong ECNL boys teams who can whoop MLS next teams. Just as many ECNL boys being recruited as well. Tirdd of your continued droning on about MLs Next- Achilles and Alexandria anybody? In VA the MLS next teams are a far cry below the ECNL teams. I bet pipeline could also beat Bethesda. There is just as wide variation in MLS Next as ECNL. So if we are going to make a statement make it accurate…The only notch above ECNL for college recruiting is Academy. Next and ECNL both have solid player pools with both good and average players…
Keep on whipping that tired mule. The level of competition is 5x that of ECNL. How many MLS age group academies do ECNL teams square off against? Zero. What do Achilles and Alexandria have to do with this discussion? This isn’t a chest pump about any local team. The fact remains almost most top teams in every state are MLS affiliated. ECNL had great run, but it’s just not as strong.
This is such a silly comment. Plenty of ECNL boys are moving to MLS academies and getting scouted/signed at D1 schools...stop being so negative. The point of playing in these hella expensive and time consuming leagues is to provide looks for our children...ECNL still (obviously) provides that. If you are good enough you are good enough...regardless of where you play. If you are counting on the league to be the thing that gets your kid over the line they they must not be that talented nor work hard enough outside the pitch. Until top players have to leave ECNL to get scouted by academies and top colleges it will continue to be relevant.

Like VDA, ECNL clubs with formal relationships with DCU will regularly get kids placed in the academy. I think that’s part of the terms of their agreement.
This is correct, DCU has partnerships with a bunch of local ECNL clubs in the area.

None of the MLSNext clubs have a P2P relationship with DCU. But they do watch the local MLSNext games regularly. That’s the point of P2P, to scout non-MLSNext clubs.
