I'm really glad this incident is getting a lot of exposure - it will hopefully serve as a cautionary tale and prompt other daycares to reassess their safety policies. After the JCC incident, which is not far from my kid's daycare, I told the directors based on what I'd read on DCUM. They hadn't even heard about it, even though the JCC confirmed it publicly. I'm grateful to DCUM for being a conduit for this kind of info (and even more so to the OP for sharing the story and ESP to her awesome nanny for stepping up to try to help the lost boy!!)

Btw I think my child is at the same school as a PP who wrote about a teacher being fired for having failed to stop/notice that a child snuck thru the door when another parent left with their child. I'd forgotten that resulted in someone getting fired.[/quote]
