Dems have lost the Teamsters. It's all ovah.
Ha! I love how Sean is trying to argue that the Republicans are better for workers or union rights. What a joke!
He's doing a great job and the accent reminds me of home.
Well, Sen. Ron Johnson’s accent reminds me of home, but everything he says is idiotic. Your point?
I’m the PP. Loved the speech and the fact the Teamsters have gone off Dems.
Yeah, that will work out really well for them! I guess Bahhstan Sean never heard of Right to Work.
You’re making fun of a Boston accent? Well your hero has a strong Queens accent. I guess you haven’t noticed?
Who has a Queens accent? BTW, you are probably the type of person who ridicules people with Southern and Midwestern accents, but criticize Bahhstan, Gaawd Foabid!
Trump is from Queens and has a strong "Noo Yawhk" accent. Had you not noticed? I wasn't making fun of anyone's accent (I have no problem with regional accents--they can be very colorful), I was just trying to point out that it's hypocritical to make fun of one person's accent when the leader of the GOP has a very strong regional accent himself.
OK, but Trump is not my hero. I am a Democrat, and I think it’s gross that the Teamsters got billions from Biden, and Sean O’Brien is grandstanding at the RNC.
PP here (also a Dem). Sorry if I misunderstood you. We're all getting a bit touchy these days, for understandable reasons. Regarding the Teamsters, I know people in that world and O'Brien is a bit of a maverick. Most blue-collar unions have memberships that reflect the partisan split of the country as a whole. It's smart of him politically vis-a-vis his own union (he's in an elected position) to appear to be open to being courted by both sides--the Dems and the GOP--given that half his members are probably MAGA. I would be very surprised if, ultimately, his union endorses Trump. But anything's possible. In the meanwhile, he got off some great lines about how big business screws workers. At times, Trump and members of the audience appeared uncomfortable with what he was saying, given the GOP's love of big business. And he raised his personal profile. Here's some insight from the WP: "Some labor experts say O’Brien could feel pressure to consider the membership’s diverse political leanings, because he won the union’s top office in 2021 after running as a reform candidate who promised more member involvement in union decision-making. O’Brien is also aware that many rank-and-file Teamsters are Republicans — and Trump supporters, experts say."
