Get back to the topic people! This thread is about the downfall, issues and lawsuits associated with BSC. LOL
Speaking of downfall, Phillip Gyau is now listed as a U9 coach for next season Not the U13 MLS Next coach
He also was busy and having trouble putting in the time for MLSN. His attendance and attention has been spotty to put it mildly. This had been an ongoing concern for a while. It may well have more to do with that than anything else.
It could also be that they're just resetting his cycle with a different group. Wasn't he with the 2010's from about U9 - U12?
Based on the resume of the new MLS Next U13's coach, I don’t think any of the parents will be disappointed. Unless their kids were picked for physicality over technical skills and IQ This guy is of Spanish, Barca background and rugby-ball won't be his thing
DS is a 2012 in the area and has played that team a few times. They are physical if you mean fit and determined/hustlers. They are not physically imposing like SYC 2012s are but have great technical skills and are in sync. I’m assuming many of those kids have been playing together for a while.
Great team, great players for sure but 2012B group (and I don't know if this is unique for BSC or youth soccer in general) has been cycling players in and out at a pretty good clip. Probably about say 40 different kids touched the top team in the last 3 or so years. As an example, I noticed about 5 were cycled through during winter/spring. Would expect when DC Academy starts the following year, they will lose a few of the better ones. So saying they have been together awhile seems like a stretch. But they keep looking for the next big thing and looking and to certain extent finding it. Fyi, not adding this as any kind of defense of BSC or contribute so some downfall narrative, just presenting an observation.
This is just so factually incorrect. People just make stuff up or guess. 40 is insane. I would say 15 since u9. Kids moving out of the country, out of state, going to other clubs, being dropped down to the second team etc. 4 kids left between winter and spring. 3 wanted more playing time and the other went to another club for a better fit. About 7 kids have been together over 3 years and 10 have been together for two years. I imagine this is similar at every club. It’s a great team and the boys are all friends. Everyone is excited for the new coach and we all also know Phil G who we have experience with. Also pretty sure every team and club is also always looking for new good players. Welcome to competitive sports
I think you misunderstood. If current team has about 20 and it seems you are saying 15 have come and gone, then you are saying 35 or so different players have been on the team. So 35 or 40, whatever. And half the team is new this year. Again, great players, great team. Not meant to infer a narrative that BSC is declining or doing anything wrong.
