And have you really never been the person who's handling a lot of complicated policy issues - or worked with one? You get briefs, notes, talking points, messaging docs. There isn't anyone of any importance - or not any importance - who doesn't have that. I've prepared them for countless people.

If you had and were an actual staffer of note, you would know this is out of order.   I can think of 100s of Dem and GOP principals who didn’t need this kind of handholding.  Heck, President Clinton left the State of the Union at the WH once and did the speech from memory when he got to the Capitol.   [/quote]
