Renovating the kitchen next year - will make the switch. I’m sad, loved cooking on gas, but I can’t argue with the data! Oh well. Funny that we switched from wood burning fireplace to gas for the same reason, but it’s all vented, so I guess(hope) it’s all good. [/quote]

You can argue with the data bc it’s junk science.  If your fireplace is ok bc it’s vented, your gas stove is ok bc it’s vented too.  Buy a bigger vent fan if you’re concerned.

Our gas fp is fully enclosed, so it is enclosed and vented. Our gas stove and oven are not enclosed, obviously. So it’s not the same thing. Also I use the stove daily and I use the gas fp no more than 10 times over the winter.

Another reason why I am good with the switch to induction is that we have solar, so we will spend less on gas and negligible increase in electricity.

People had the same reaction in my town when wood burning fp’s were no longer allowed in new construction. It’s a no brainer that burning fuel in your home is a fire hazard and causes indoor pollution whether it’s wood or natural gas. [/quote]
