Yes, it's expensive but how are they ever going to find their way if they don't learn how to walk, talk, ride a bike AND go to college all by themselves? If they are struggling and you have built a good relationship then it opens up the lines of communication to find out what they are struggling with, if they are partying too much my guess is they are all to aware that if they fail out they are going to have to find a job and figure out how to get past the problem they created.
