In case anyone needs a reminder of what we’re up against: I was just reading a tweet from councilman Zachary Parker. Apparently today, in Bloomingdale, two teachers walking with a group of toddlers were attacked at 2nd and S Streets NW. One is now hospitalized; thank God some bystanders stepped in to help. Surprise, surprise: the assailant was “well known” in the community. Fear not, as the Councilman assures us they are looking into “support services” for him.
If you voted Democrat, you voted for this, yes you did. Elections have consequences and the city is no longer safe because of the voters. Stop voting for the same politicians and council members and expecting something different. Or just move, because these people will NEVER see the truth, you have to see the world that you live in and not the one you hope for, and vote accordingly. I do not give two f s what letter is next to your name, if you are tough on criminals you have my vote.
I don’t think I’ve ever voted for a Democrat in my life.
The ranked voting initiative will allow more reasonable candidates (of any party) to have a shot. Right now loony tune fringe people are getting on the Council with a very small "real" percentage of the vote. They really aren't representative of the people's will, just a terrible election process we have.
