Jesus also celebrated International Pronoun Day. John 18 Jesus said, "I am he" mic drop.
notice, He didn't say, " I am he/him, and you can be he/him even if you were born she/her, or a they/them". mic drop
A more colloquial translation would be, "That's me." Jesus: Who do you want? Soldiers: Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus: That's me. Soldiers: *fall down* Jesus: Who do you want? Soldiers: Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus: That's me. Let these people go. Nobody in real life currently says, "I am he." Or, if you were pointing a person out, you'd say, "That's them."
No one falls down, because you say "That's me." The soldiers fall down because "I am he" is invoking the name of God.
That wouldn't make it more sense even if it were an accurate translation, which it isn't.
