Yes, I selfishly choose other vacations over Disney because we can’t afford to do both. They’re not “sophisticated” trips and my kids have a lot of fun. We swim in lakes and explore castle ruins, we eat different foods and hang out at playgrounds. We sit outside at night and the kids run around and play on the piazzas. I like being in other countries and it’s enjoyable for the kids. 
My in laws only vacation at Disney and are scared of the rest of the world. They think kids can only like Disney and possibly the beach.

If we had extra funds I would have taken my kids to Disney once, most of my overseas relatives have actually been to Disney World. But we don’t, so we choose what we like.
