Establish Justice: So how does unfettered gun ownership establish Justice? What about justice where it comes to the underground market place of guns fueling drug wars? What about justice where it comes to mentally ill people being able to buy guns and then shoot children in schools? The right wing is failing us there. Insure domestic tranquility: Unfettered gun ownership has only caused gun violence to increase in America. Another fail. Provide for the common defense: Again a fail, since we have less security and peace of mind as a society Promote the general Welfare: How is it promoting the general welfare to have mentally ill people able to pass a background check to buy a gun? How is it promoting the general welfare to have tons of guns circulated in an underground market place so that felons can easily bypass the system and buy guns? Huge fail. Secure the blessings of liberty: How do we have liberty when we have to worry about locking down our children in their schools? That is not liberty. Ourselves and our posterity: Again, where is our posterity if our children (our posterity) are being gunned down in schools? The current interpretation of 2A has trampled all over the core intent of the Constitution as laid out in the preamble. Something HAS to give. And Heller, NFA and other things should be showing us the way, that 2A *is not* absolute. It needs to give way.[/quote] Now do that for the policies allowing millions to pour across our border.[/quote] I have plenty of solutions for the people pouring across the border, like working with Mexico to help them deal with migrants and to have them do a massive messaging campaign to expose the BS of the traffickers making false promises to migrants. Like hiring a big cadre of immigration judges and having them stationed at the border crossings to hear their asylum claims on the spot. We already know 80+ percent of asylum claims are not legitimate, so turn them right around and send them back the way they came. Like having mandatory drug treatment programs to get people clean and off of the drugs coming across the border. Like having worker visas for the ones that we actually want to hire. Things like that would reduce it by 90% plus, far more than Trump's wall did. Now your turn - when are we going to start having accountability for guns, like mandatory registration and background checks for EVERY gun transfer, whether by dealer or private individual? And have all of the data go into a searchable national database, so that we can track down the straw buyers and gunrunners? When are we going to impose serious criminal sanctions for illicit guns? When are we going to treat guns the same way we do cars, with requirements for licensing, health qualifications, written and practical exams, and periodic renewal? Require insurance to cover the cost of gun violence?
