I also don’t think Jamie had bad intentions. He may not have done a great job of managing the conservatorship but it is a very complicated thing given her fame and money and all that goes along with it, on top of a family member. When the relationship between Jamie and Britney soured, he may initially have thought this was more her illness and mental state than their relationship itself and that it would righty itself as it likely had before when she was feeling better. Moving to a neutral conservator was the right move once it was clear the relationship was damaged.
I have a really hard time believing Jamie’s intentions weren’t all about money. He basically forced her to work and perform concerts in her fragile mental state. She had plenty of money. That was just messed up.
I am not saying he handled it all well. He isn't a trained conservator but working and the structure that provided may have been good for her. Many people with mental illnesses work. Lying at home in bed 24/7 or not doing anythig productive is not really conducive to good mental health and if she was treated, working may have made her feel good. I don't know for sure but I am not convinced he was an evil minded man who saw the conservatorship as a way to make money. I don't think Jamie is all that much brighter than Britney and may have his own mental fragility given his family history. He had some major traumas early in life. I think he probably just bumped along making reactive decisions as he went based on what was going on with Britney. Managing a family member with mental illness is hard for anyone. It went downhill at somepoint but I am not sure the entirety of the conservatorship was about him plotting and planning to take her money or to force her to work. I think both parents had been spending her money in various ways since she was a child - seems to be a common trend with child actors / stars. People have a hard transitioning from rural / poverty / simple life (or their life pre money) to Hollywood life and millions of dollars and fame. Especially when they aren't that bright or savvy (entire Spears family). Conservatorships are pretty closely audited and have to have third party financial audits so there should be a pretty clear paper trail of the money.
