An out of the box hire for principal for Fairfax County.  She from Houston, and a graduate of Prairie View, atypical in quality for FCPS.

This principal may have skills working with less advantaged populations.  If her record is sound in the area in terms of academic improvement, there is logic behind the hire, however unusual.  This article paints her in a positive light:

I concur with the statement above is that most parents want competence and attention to safety and a learning environment.
