At this point m, he should press charges as well.
For a tap on the shoulder or back? Are you insane? Have you crazies never tapped a stranger in public to get their attention? If they, or anyone associated with them responded by backhanding you, you would think that is a completely inappropriate response. Hell I tapped some in the store last night because they were on their phone and being called up to check out. Should I get a backhand? I don’t care who anyone involved in this situation is, if you think the response to a tap on the shoulder or back is a backhand to the other person, you are insane.
PP here - I also just want to point out that some of these crazies were defending the body guard before they saw the video. Meaning they did think a backhand was an appropriate response to a tap on the shoulder. What happened in the video and the responses to that should be separate from the absolute insane response that a backhand is an appropriate reaction to a tap on the shoulder, which is the scenario these posters were responding to. I know it’s probably the same convoluted reasoning an incel uses to beat a partner or kid but still, it’s insane to read these defenses.
So, you were defending Britney's actions before you saw what happened on the video. Why is Britney a credible witness? Why, before even seeing the video, would you not agree that it was unacceptable for her to touch a celebrity from behind - someone who was being quickly ushered through a space by bodyguards? Were you expecting the bodyguards to know who Britney was? Why would you not agree the only thing in question was the amount of force used to free the celebrity from Britney's touch/grasp? I was one of the PPs questioning that Britney was 'backhanded'. Clearly, we have different definitions of what 'backhanded' means. Having been backhanded plenty of times in my life, I understand it to be hit with notable force, with the back of someone's hand. It seems Britney has a similar understanding since she claims she nearly fell from the blow. I, rightly, questioned Britney's description of what happened. What I saw in the video was a swat from the back of someone's hand that gave her pause but did not cause her to even stumble, much less fall. I stand by my defense of the bodyguard who used appropriate force to remove the hand of someone touching his client. You can call it a 'backhand' if you like.
