Seems to me the pp’s post is in response to the OP saying that Hindus should not use their symbol in any country other than India.

The OP also seems ignorant to the fact that Hindus welcomed Jewish refugees and gave them a safe space to call home as Jewish people have lived in India for 2,000 years. Even though their numbers were small, they have thrived.

Needless to say, this is some kind of ridiculous Hindu bashing because it’s obvious the person who placed the hooked cross over her door was her Arab neighbor in retaliation for her complaining about smoke. But all she can focus on is that Hindus still use this symbol. That’s clear from her title of this thread calling out Indians to respond so she can lecture them to only use their symbol in India.

I didn't see where op said Hindus can only use the symbol in India.

But I don't think it matters if op doesn't know about the history between the Hindus and the Jews, because she's not accusing Hindus of anything. The suspect who left the symbol isn't Hindu. OP isn't saying the Indian people did anything wrong.

The issue is that hotel management is telling her the swastika is a peace symbol, so she's asking Indian people of dcum: do Indian people leave swastika symbols above doors? Of strangers? Does this ring true?

But that's neither here nor there because we all know who left the swastika and why. The question is, does the management team truly not get what it what it means, IN THIS CONTEXT? Or are they just gaslighting to try to minimize conflict?

I still don't think op or anyone else needs to "get over" ourselves. If someone intends for a swastika to be antisemitic, it shouldn't be ignored or interpreted as peaceful. [/quote]
