I miss the times of moderates in VA.
What specifically do you mean by "moderate"?
times when candidates mattered more than party, when democrats would win seats in southwest virginia and republicans would win in fairfax.
What positions are "moderate" in 2023?
Still waiting to hear what these "moderate" positions are in 2023.
Realistically, a moderate that would represent the whole country would be a Joe Manchin. The country as a whole leans socially liberal, but economically a little more conservative.
So a moderate is pro-life, anti same sex marriage, anti environmental protections, etc? Nope. That’s Republican. Manchin is a DINO.
Manchin is the average of the far left and far right. You’re just upset because you think the country as a whole is super far left, which it isn’t. First of all, he’s not pro life or anti sex marriage, you just wouldn’t know because he doesn’t make it his entire persona to correct people on the correct use of pronouns. And he’s not anti environmental protections, he tries to bridge together the working class with futuristic energy plans. Representing America as a whole means standing up for agricultural and appalachian states, not only California.
