Mario Loiederman Eastern Silver Spring International White Oak Potomac Cabin John Herbert Hoover Bethesda Earle B. Wood North Bethesda Thomas W. Pyle Kensington Newport Mill Rockville Francis Scott Key Redland Robert Frost Gaithersburg Forest Oak Germantown Kingsview Magnet: Roberto W Clemente Middle Takoma Park Middle
This must be from before C2.0 since they haven't had Algebra 2 at TPMS in like a decade.
Agree; it looks like this is from before they switched to Curriculum 2.0, so way out of date. It even lists our school, which I know hasn't had Algebra 2 since then. They're so desperate to make their point that they're grasping at straws.
My child took algebra 2 at one of the (non-potomac) schools on the list last year. Definitely not an old list.
Name the school then otherwise have dismiss this as just more false propaganda.
They were named. How many times do you need to name them and why do you need the specific school? My kid takes algebra 2 through the high school.
They haven't been named other than Frost certainly posting an outdated 20-year-old list doesn't count
This is current. Get out of your small bubble.
Okay, I'll do it. In addition to Frost the other MCPS MS that offer Algebra 2 in 2023 are Cabin John, Pylye, and Hoover.
Despite the outdated list they posted, Pyle doesn't offer Algebra 2. Refer to Pyle's website under math. Only AIM, Algebra, and Geometry are listed. The PP was correct the list is bogus. https://www2.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/schools/pylems/staff/directory/
No Algebra 2 on Frost website either: https://www2.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/schools/robertfrostms/departments/math/ Everyone knows you can't trust MCPS websites for correct info.
Often it's not advertised as it is year to year depending on the number of students and if they have a qualified teacher. Our school doesn't list it. If there are not enough students/teacher the kids go to the high school. All MS offer Algebra so they just put the 6th graders in their own class or with 7/8th graders.
which school would that be?
One of the ones listed above.
Still waiting...
They won't ever name the school because it's fiction and someone would refute it.
We gave you a list already
The list was from 15 years ago before Curriculum 2.0 when every MS offered Algebra 2. Now the only schools that do are a few wealthy Potomac schools.
Yes, there's no dates or citations so the list seems bogus whereas multiple sources and school websites seem plausible.
Since at least Covid, school websites have been a mess of outdated and incompelte information. People are arguing rumor and speculation because MCPS is unwilling or unable to provide accurate information. They spend $millions on external consultants for studies, but won't have one person at the huge admin offices post basic info on the websites and review and delete obsolete info.
