If there really is another recession and the DC's job disappears that sounds like a great time to travel the world. I have nothing against seeing the world. I did a study abroad in collage (which I worked and saved for). It was amazing. I've seen plenty more of the world through work and.....vacation time. Honestly, I'd expect anyone to get bored if they're just site seeing and laying on a beach. If they were teaching english, taking classes, joining the peace corps or had some other meaningful way to connect with communities they visit it would be a different story. [/quote]
