I think the hysteria over college on this board is parents expecting their kids to match or exceed the “prestige” of whatever school they went to themselves.

Maybe we just had a different perspective seeing our oldest struggle with learning disorder, depression, etc. And just feeling grateful and happy they were able to end up at a good fit and be successful. I learned a lot of the anxiety over the college process was mine, not hers. [/quote]
