This is concerning in a Democratic Primary.

It's a talking point of the ultra right "parents rights" movement.

Conservative parents are joining APS committees in large numbers.

What if the parent run School Health Board puts out a recommendation to limit rights to trans students? Or change family life curriculum?

What if the parent run ACTL Social Studies committee recommends limiting African American Studies?

What if the parent run ACTL ELA committee doesn't want some types of books to be read in English?

Do we really want central office to respect committees recommendations that don't share out values?  This is why we have an elected school board. It's their job to look at the recommendations offered by central office staff AND parent committees, and then decide how to move forward in the best interest of our community and students.
