Because SO many of the drivers are awful. Yes, there are bad DC/VA drivers. Yes, there are some good MD drivers. But there are so many negligent, incompetent, all out terrible MD drivers.
This. Why do MD drivers think highways are video game race tracks? 30 miles over the speed limit, weaving from lane to lane. It’s insane and as common and predictable as the the sun rising. And what’s with the left turns from the middle lane in front of all the people in the actual left turn lanes?
Left turns from the middle lane are allowed at many intersections and make perfect sense. Learn to drive and pay attention to the turn arrows on the lanes.
Omg. Not unless it’s designated for turns. No.
Many intersections are marked for the left turn lane to turn left only and the left lane has straight and left arrows meaning, you can also turn left from that lane which makes perfect sense. If you are turning left onto another two lane road, why not let both lanes turn left? It's a Maryland thing and it's brilliant! But, we know how to drive. And yes, we will likely turn left from any lane no matter how it's marked. Stay alert.
