Minnesota's changes to teacher licensing requirements includes "Consistent with the local curriculum and state and local academic standards, the teacher creates demonstrates the ability to create opportunities for students to learn about: power, privilege, intersectionality, and systemic oppression… …in the context of various communities and empowers learners to be agents of social change to promote equity."
Yes, Absolutely. Equity of outcomes instead of equality of opportunities is the ultimate giveaway. It’s CRT.
It isn’t. For one thing, you are using words incorrectly. Equity means creating equal opportunity, which doesn’t really exist now despite the rhetoric. For another, it is not critical race theory. CRT is a lot more developed as a theory and academic discipline than bellowing about equity. This is why it’s only taught at the post-graduate level, chiefly in law schools, where justice is absolutely rife with inequalities.
DP. Then how would you describe the new "equal outcomes"? Our superintendent has said it's the new goal, rather than the old equal opportunities.
