OP here.  I want to hear more about what he’s doing right!  I get it, the media loves to talk about his eschewing of Covid guidance, Martha vineyard stunts, and the theater of his “dont say gay” bill—but these are the “culture war” type things.  I’m hoping to learn more about the positives ways he’s improved life for the people of his state.[/quote]

Which other Governor...

He lied about Covid data and Florida has the highest rate of senior deaths. He had a dangerous surgeon general. Both made it entirely political.

I would never retire there with sky high housing costs. The restrictions on immigration make it tough to get things done around the house. My MIL has waited a year to get her driveway done. They can’t get yard workers. No thanks!

No, that's not true. She was fired because she changed the website repeatedly when her superior told her not to. She then illegally accessed the system after she was fired.

DeSantis' covid response looks "crazy" to liberals only because blue states went so extreme with their responses. DeSantis just followed the pandemic play book that was in place, before people like Cuomo and Whitmer panicked in spring of 2020.[/quote]

Interesting b/c my friends in public health do not think his conduct was most becoming. Cuomo and Whitmer had to taken drastic steps as their states were epicenters for the virus. They say DeSantis operated in an uneven, inequitable manner, especially in the early days of the vaccine distribution when he prioritized donors over more vulnerable population groups.[/quote]

Wait. Your "friends in public health" are not aware that Cuomo's decision to send elders with Covid to nursing homes full of older, vulnerable people resulted directly in THOUSANDS of deaths?

Truly equitable, that was.

He prioritized people with means. Poor, uninsured people who were high risk could not access the vaccine without a note from a doctor, which costs hundreds of dollars. [/quote]
