Mid 40s, 5’6” woman here checking in. I’m down two pounds this week for a total of 43 lbs lost. I never thought I’d make it to the mid 130s on the scale. One more pound to go before my next goal. I was proud of myself with all my travel last week, I didn’t have a scale but I put into practice all the habits I’ve been cultivating over the last nearly 6 months and made the best choices I could while allowing some grace for a cannoli (can’t visit where I went without a cannoli!). Despite 4 days of meals out, I was able to stick mostly to salads with lean protein or more simply prepared items like the fresh grilled fish on menus. I also hit the gym daily while on the road and kept up my exercise. My BMI is down 7 points since I started this journey, my resting heart rate is down 8 bpm, I’ve lost 24% of my body weight, my cardio fitness level is in the high range, my plantar fasciitis seems to have resolved, I breathe easier.
Just a hey congratulations from me on this. That's a big loss across six months, PP -- I hope you are so proud of yourself! I have had the travel experience from both sides -- travel and gain a lot, but also travel and treat myself occasionally but mostly eat mindfully and healthfully, and yes it is so good to come back and check the scale and not see too much make up work to do, heh. Yet it can be hard to make those choices while traveling, so bravo, PP!
Thank you! I’m determined that this will be my last weight loss journey. This is my first one in a while that wasn’t related to shedding weight after having babies, and I had done pretty well after my last baby, maintaining that loss for 4 years until I let things go during COVID. I am proud of myself. I’ve gotten up every day for 6 months determined to make good choices, move my body, and have a good attitude about the whole thing. And I’m doing it for myself and no one else! I also really love my new clothes and an interim pit of jeans I bought in late August are already too big.
