Definitely possible she didn't, just like I don't think Warmbier took down the banner.    But that (getting falsely accused of crimes with little/no recourse) is a risk you take when you go to countries like N. Korea and Russia.   When you willingly do things you know have a huge risk, the US government should not make huge sacrifices to bail you out.[/quote]

This whole thing is trumped up and political and everyone, EVERYONE needs to be calling it out for what it is - callous and illegitimate gamesmanship by Russia and shaming Russia for it.[/quote]

And Britney Griner is not Russian.   If a country wants to extend special privileges to it's citizens that it does no afford non citizens, that is their right.   I wish the US would do more of that.[/quote]

They should follow standard practice across the board in how they prosecute, not make up arbitrary special rules for certain people.  The fact that they are treating Greiner so differently from anyone else may be their right and their prerogayive but it also shows aa sham being orchestrated by them for political reasons and we have every right to call them out for it.[/quote]
