So earlier in this thread I mentioned I had lost about 10 lbs by reducing to a 1200-1400 calories per day diet and someone said it was water weight only. Update - after 9 weeks I've now lost a total of 20 lbs and feel fantastic. So I guess it wasn't just water after all.
If you are under 5’3” you will not see results this quickly. I just want to put this out there as I’ve seen a lot of threads from short people so you don’t get discouraged. Everyone says never go below 1,200, but they are not talking to you, 5’1” person. You can go below 1200. Get a general sense of your energy expenditure (calculators online can help with this, which incorporate your height, weight, and activity level). Then calculate how many fewer calories you need in order to be in enough deficit to lose 1/2 to a pound a week. These same calculators should tell you that, too. Follow for a few weeks and tweak. Most people who don’t lose weight after doing this are underestimating how many calories they are eating per day.
Thankfully I am not under 5'3 then. I'm 5'7.
I was posting for folks who are short and don’t see the same results as you.
