It’s mostly because Riemer is untrustworthy. His colleagues know how much of a snake he is. The only group where he’s maintained solid support is among the hangers-on in the housing industry, the kinds of people who think developers want to make less money.  But the housing industry itself isn’t even supporting him because they know he’d be a disaster for the county and their property values.

They hired a “regional policy director” in May, everyone knows who that is and why that will be a disastrous appointment. Their claim that they will only endorse if they are paid by the industry to endorse makes them look 100% pay for play, which is a bad look but it’s refreshing that they are going mask off. [/quote]

Your question presumes that he actually cares about anything other than himself. If his loss and the manner in which he loses is so bad that it hurts his reputation, then I am sure that he will regret that. Otherwise, the only thing he’ll probably regret is not winning. [/quote]
